Show Low Downtown

Redevelopment Master Plan

Collaboration among graduate students, faculty, and the residents of Show Low led to multiple design alternatives that suggest innovative ways to restore and revitalize Show Low’s Main Street (Deuce of Clubs Avenue) and the downtown commercial district. Our design efforts largely focused on the renewal of surrounding neighborhoods and other historic, cultural and environmental amenities. An array of design alternatives were then synthesized into one master plan with several focal areas of study, including new community and civic centers and improvements along the Deuce of Clubs and White Mountain Road. The citizens of Show Low actively participated with the Tejido Group and the design process by participating in community presentations given by Tejido, as well as responding to survey questionnaires. Our master planning document included streetscape and funding suggestions, and copies of Tejido’s survey questionnaire forms. A CD in the back cover of the book includes a three-dimensional animated walk-through along some of the focal areas design.
